Congratulations to Dr. Tianhe Huang for an Early Investigator Research Award by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) of the Department of Defense.
Dr. Huang is a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Xin Lu, the John and Mary Jo Boler Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, Boler-Parseghian Center for Rare and Neglected Diseases. Dr. Huang is also co-mentored by Dr. Liang Cheng at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Huang studies several different cancers, including rare cancers. His award is for understanding and targeting the metastasis of prostate cancer. Dr. Huang received his MD (2012) and PhD (2019) degrees from China. He joined Dr. Lu’s laboratory as a postdoctoral fellow in 2019 where he has been highly productive studying both prostate cancer and von Hippel Lindau syndrome which causes hemangioblastomas (or blood vessel tumors of the brain, spinal cord, and eye).
